Talosa Vino Nobile Montepulciano

Historic Cellar

The main barrel aging cellar is in the old town center of Montepulciano, in an underground area between two of the oldest buildings in the city: Palazzo Tarugi and Palazzo Sinatti.

The Talosa Cellar date back to the 16th century and visiting them is like stepping back time. The brick passageways contain a series of vaults and niches where the barrels are placed.

Visitors to this magical place automatically assume an air of respect or even reverence for the force of history pulsating these walls. The winery applies this same respect and reverence to cultivation of the vineyards and production of the quality wines.

Inside the Historic Cellar, there are huge oak barrels where Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is aged for two years and three years for the Vino Nobile Riserva. The oldest barrels, capacity 115hl have 44 years and thanks to them we obtained the first bottle of Vino Nobile company in 1972. The temperature and humidity of the cellar are constant throughout the year and natural 14 ° C temperature and 60-70% relative humidity.
